Hey there, Hilton Head Island residents! If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the yard debris left in the wake of Tropical Storm Helene, there’s some good news headed your way. This weekend, starting Saturday, the town is stepping up to help you with a special debris drop-off event that’s perfect for clearing out your yards and gardens.
From Saturday to Monday, you’ll be able to drop off your yard waste at the Coastal Discovery Museum property located on Honey Horn Drive. If you’ve got tree branches, leaves, or any landscaping debris lying around, this is your chance to get rid of it! The drop-off hours are from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., so be sure to plan your visit accordingly. It’s a convenient way to clear up your space while helping keep our beautiful island tidy.
Getting there is a breeze! You can enter the drop-off site via to access points including Gumtree Road or the William Hilton Parkway. Just follow the signs, and the team will guide you through the process. It’s a simple task that can make a big difference in maintaining the cleanliness of our beloved Hilton Head.
It’s important to note that only tree and landscaping debris will be accepted at this event. Unfortunately, things like household waste or construction debris won’t be allowed, so be sure to check your items before packing them up. This helps ensure that the drop-off runs smoothly and efficiently!
Many of us understand the impact storms can have on our landscapes. Torrential winds and heavy rains can leave branches down and excess foliage everywhere. This special disposal opportunity allows residents to not only clean up their yards but also to maintain the natural beauty of Hilton Head Island. A clean environment is essential for both wildlife and the local community, and every little bit counts!
So, grab your gloves, gather your debris, and take part in this community effort to keep our beloved island pristine. It’s a great way to meet fellow residents, share stories post-storm, and lend a hand to our environment. Remember, such community initiatives reflect our collective spirit to take care of Hilton Head Island.
If you have any questions about the event or what can be accepted, feel free to check in at the Coastal Discovery Museum’s website or contact local authorities for details. It’s always good to stay informed!
This weekend’s debris drop-off is an excellent chance to get involved and make an impact in your community. Let’s show some island pride and help each other out during this time. Looking forward to seeing you there!
