Steve DeSimone Announces New Candidacy for HHI Representing Ward 3
Former Hilton Head Town Councilman, Steve DeSimone, a veteran who also boasts of deep connections to the Hilton Head Island community, is excitedly announcing his latest quest to represent Ward 3 in the Hilton Head Island Town Council. A dedicated servant leader, DeSimone’s previous tenure with the council from 1996 to 2002 representing Ward 4 saw him spearhead significant advancements for the local community inline with then-mayor, Tom Peeples.
This is a man of unflagging energy and precious experience who is uniquely positioned to serve in the Town Council. In his prior service, he worked tirelessly to secure paved roads throughout both north and south Forest Beach, significant drainage projects across the island, and a revamped program for the beachfront. He also played a decisive role in seeing to the completion of the Cross Island Parkway and a series of land acquisition programs.

DeSimone’s works attests to his deep commitment to not just economic growth for Hilton Head Island, but also striking a fine balance with environmental protection to improve residents’ quality of life. Since moving to Hilton Head Island in 1986 to take up an assistant engineering role with the then-newly organized town government, he has established such a deep connection with the town that it’s more than just a place of residence for him. DeSimone, a University of Kentucky graduate with a BS degree in civil engineering, today is a proud owner of a multi-faceted construction company that specializes in land and marine projects.
Prioritizing Transparency, accountability, and residents’ needs within the HHI community
He is not just all about businesses and projects. DeSimone also cherishes family as he, together with his wife Tracy, have raised three daughters on Hilton Head Island. He is currently serving on the Town’s Board of Zoning Appeals, is an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and for 10 years, he gave back to the community by volunteering as a volleyball coach at Hilton Head Christian Academy.
