Exciting Art Exhibition “What Do You See?” Coming to SOBA Gallery in October 2024

Hello Art Lovers, Mark Your Calendars!

Get ready, folks! The Society of Bluffton Artists (or as cool people like me call it, SOBA) is gearing up to present a super awesome art exhibition called “What Do You See?”. The talented Jane Capraro (a.k.a. JC Kuller in the art world) is the star of the show, which will run from Sunday, October 6 right up to Saturday, November 2, 2024.

Feast Your Eyes on Some Amazing Art

You can check out the exhibition at the SOBA Gallery. And guess what? You’re invited to a super cool get-together on Friday, October 11, where you can chat with Jane and take a deep dive into her super cool art works. Aren’t Friday nights the best?

Jane Capraro – A Star on the Rise

Jane’s love for painting is in her genes. Her dad, John Kuller was an illustrator and oil painter and she proudly carries on his legacy in the world of art. She spent a chunk of her life in banking (in oh-so-busy New York City), before finally tuning into her true calling – painting. Her love for abstract and abstract expressionism springs from her mentor, Missy Gentile at SOBA. Her works are powerful, full of life, and truly a visual treat.

In 2024 she clinched the “Best in Show” award for her abstract piece “The Queen,” and she continues to win hearts with her bold, dynamic pieces. Some of her work is currently gracing the walls of Alexander’s Restaurant on Hilton Head Island and of course, at the SOBA Gallery.

Art That Speaks

In her artist’s statement, she talks about the sheer joy and liberation of painting. She says, “Painting in abstract is…a creative force that I use to interpret and express my vision of the world within and around me.” Her aim is to take viewers to different realms that can provoke laughter, spark magic, spread calm, stir up sorrow, or maybe even serve up some food for thought with a touch of social justice or challenge.”

Bonus Info on SOBA
