Exciting news, Beaufortians! Our very own Beaufort County Library has opened up a brand new branch in Port Royal! Isn’t that cool? It’s the library’s sixth branch and is set to open its doors on Wednesday, August 21.
The big reveal is going down at 2 p.m., so make sure you’re there. But wait, there’s more! They’re throwing a Grand Opening and Ribbon-Cutting Celebration on Saturday, August 24. The Ribbon-Cutting will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a story time and refreshments. Sounds like a blast doesn’t it?!
Visitors will get a chance to tour the new building, chat with library staff, register for a library card, and check out some cool materials. The new branch boasts an impressive collection of over 5,000 materials including all sorts of books and movies.
They’ve paid special attention to making the library a great space for our community. This new facility includes dedicated meeting and conference rooms, which we can use for our club meetings or workshops. As for technology, they’ve got us covered with public computers and a self-service scan, fax, and email station.
You can visit this new hive of wisdom and knowledge from Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays, you can pop in anytime between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The new branch will be closed on Sundays so plan your library visits accordingly.
Here’s a cherry on top for teachers: there’s a Teacher Book Giveaway being organized by Goodwill Southeast Georgia. So make sure to check that out!
It’s always inspiring to see our community grow and expand with an essential resource like a library. So head on over, Beaufortians, and let’s celebrate the opening of our new library together!
