Rotary Club of Bluffton Awards Grants Worth $24,500

The Rotary Club of Bluffton made an exciting announcement recently in regard to the allocation of its 2024 grants. A total of $24,500 has been awarded to five different organizations within the community for the first half of the year. These organizations include Volunteers in Medicine – Bluffton, Volunteers in Medicine – Hilton Head, Bluffton Self Help, SOAR – Special Olympics and Recreation, and SCNRI – South Carolina Nurse Retention Initiative. The Club evaluates dozens of grant applications annually with a focus on supporting local charity efforts.

The Rotary Club of Bluffton, established in 1988, is a part of the broad network of more than 46,000 clubs worldwide. With over 1.4 million members based in over 200 countries, these devoted Rotarians are engaged in sustainable projects aimed at improving both local communities and the environment. They live by their motto, “Service Above Self.”

‘Donuts with Dads’ in Yemassee Town

Yemassee Town, a diverse town located on the cusp of Hampton, Beaufort, and Colleton counties, recently hosted a special event, “Donuts with Dads,” on Saturday, June 15. The event, held at Yemassee Town Hall, was celebrated to honor fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other male figures who play a significant fatherly role in the lives of local children.

“The morning was filled with fellowship, fun, laughter, coffee, and delicious donuts. It was heartwarming to see many fathers and father figures spending quality time with their children, creating cherished memories and strengthening their bonds,” outlined the town organizers. The event brought together the community and emphasized the importance of male role models in the lives of children.

It was a rare moment of appreciation for those who’ve stepped up in a paternal capacity, showing that love and care transcend all boundaries. Town officials expressed their gratitude to all the men who took the time to attend the event. They hailed it as a momentous occasion that demonstrates the unity and shared values of the Yemassee community.
