Lady’s Island Reflections and Dinner Guests

What a treat it was for Dan D’Orazio, a local of Lady’s Island, when he snapped a picture of the sky’s reflection on a nearby pond from his backyard at 8:12 p.m. on Thursday, August 22. What made the scene even more breathtaking was the large family of Wood Storks who decided to hang out for dinner. It was an absolutely gorgeous scene that beautifully encapsulates the serene charm of Lowcountry Life.

Hawk Sighting in Habersham

Two days later, on Saturday, August 24, Andrea Ogiony of Habersham spotted a visitor perched on her fence. The visitor was none other than a majestic Cooper’s Hawk. She was fortunate enough to spot the bird and even luckier to capture it in a photograph.

A Crab’s Life at Hunting Island State Park

Anya Iverson from the distant lands of Kohler, Wisconsin, was spending some time at the Hunting Island State Park when she managed to capture an amusing picture. The star of her photograph was a crab who seemed to be quite in its element, exploring the sandy shores of the park.

Bags of Idaho Potatoes Make Their Way to Lowcountry

The delectable taste of French fries is beloved by many, but few take a moment to consider their origin. A heap of Idaho potatoes was spotted by Habersham’s very own Ron Callari and captured in a photograph. These potatoes will soon transform into tasty fries which will be enjoyed by many in Lowcountry.

Osprey Fledgling Takes First Flight

In another heartwarming incident, Mark Pritchard managed to click a picture of a young Osprey taking its first flight. It was the oldest of three fledglings and the photo captures the invaluable moment beautifully.
