Beaufort, SC – Exciting news for our local veterans! The Beaufort County Veterans Affairs is teaming up with Lowcountry Legal Volunteers to provide a free legal clinic tailored specifically for veterans who need assistance in creating important documents like wills and powers of attorney. This event is designed to make legal support accessible and stress-free for those who have served our country.
Mark your calendars for Friday, October 18, as the clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at AMVETS Post 70, located at 1831 Ribaut Road in Port Royal. This clinic is not only free of charge, but it’s also open to all veterans and their dependents, making it a fantastic opportunity for our local veteran community.
According to Veterans Affairs Director Caroline Fermin, “End of life planning is incredibly important.” She expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited and grateful for this opportunity to sponsor this clinic with Lowcountry Legal Volunteers.” Having a will or power of attorney in place can provide peace of mind, and knowing that veterans can receive these essential documents without any financial burden is a comforting thought.
Many veterans and their families often have questions regarding legal matters, especially those that pertain to their future. This clinic aims to address those questions and provide personal assistance in drafting up necessary legal documentation. By the end of the day, each participant should leave with either a completed will or power of attorney, making it a service truly aimed at benefiting our veteran population.
It’s important to note that registration is required to attend this event. If you’re a veteran or a family member, you can sign up online through the Lowcountry Legal Volunteers website or give them a call at 843-815-1570. By registering, you’ll ensure your spot at this valuable clinic.
The Beaufort County Veterans Affairs Office is dedicated to assisting veterans, their spouses, and dependents in accessing the various government programs available to them. If anyone needs further assistance or wants to schedule an appointment with a Veterans Affairs Counselor, they can reach out by calling 843-255-6880. More information can also be found on their website.
In addition to legal services, the Beaufort County Veterans Affairs and the dedicated team behind it are continually working to provide resources and support for our local veterans. This clinic is just one of many ways they aim to serve our community and ensure veterans have access to the help they need.
For those eligible, this clinic represents a unique opportunity to take care of critical legal matters, all while connecting with others who share similar experiences. If you or someone you know is a veteran, don’t miss out on this chance to participate. Together, we can show our appreciation for the sacrifices made by our veterans and their families. Let’s make sure they have the resources they need to plan for their future!
