Halloween is right around the corner, and the Town of Hampton is gearing up for a spook-tacular event! On October 31 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., join the fun at Trick or Treat on Lee Avenue. Local merchants, Chamber of Commerce members, and community organizations are preparing to greet an estimated 500 kids looking for sweets and thrills. It’s a perfect opportunity for families to dress up, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and gather goodies!
The best part? Every child will receive a trick or treat bag courtesy of the Chamber of Commerce! Looking for some live music? The Town of Bluffton is excited to present its third concert on November 1 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.. Get ready to rock out to the sounds of CornBreD at the stunning Buckwalter Place Amphitheater Park. This event is entirely free, and there will be a selection of food trucks on-site to satisfy your cravings while you enjoy the show!
In honor of our veterans, the Bluffton American Legion Post 205 invites everyone to participate in their Annual Veterans’ Day Parade on November 11 at 10 a.m. in Old Town Bluffton. This is a memorable opportunity for individuals, groups, and organizations to come together and show appreciation for veterans of all ages. Participation is free; however, entrants are encouraged to showcase a military or patriotic theme to honor our heroes. If you’re feeling crafty, the Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage offers a fantastic linocut printmaking workshop on October 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Under the expert guidance of artist and educator Ian Welch, attendees will learn the art of carving into linoleum plates and creating stunning prints. The workshop fee is $45 (or $40.50 for Heritage members), and spots are filling up quickly, so be sure to reserve yours soon!
Join the Morris Center on November 9 for the exclusive Echoes of Honey Hill event, celebrating the 160th anniversary of the Battle of Honey Hill. This evening will feature insightful presentations, a gourmet buffet, and an excellent opportunity to explore historical insights. Ticket holders will enjoy a delicious menu, including mac and cheese, roast beef, and bread pudding. VIP attendees can also take part in an exclusive battlefield tour!
Mark your calendars for November 15 for a lovely Veterans Appreciation Day Lowcountry Boil at Sgt. Jasper Park in Hardeeville. This event runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. It’s open to all veterans and their dependents, no matter their service status. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy good food and fellowship while honoring those who served.
Lastly, the Morris Center will host another Lowcountry Glass Mosaic Workshop on November 16. Get creative and learn to design your own luminous mosaic suncatcher! Led by artist Pat Stone, this workshop promises to be both enlightening and fun. Spots are limited, so don’t wait to sign up!
