Excitement Builds in Beaufort as New Shopping Center Flourishes
Beaufort, SC, has recently been buzzing with excitement over the opening of the Beaufort Station Shopping Center. Many of the stores that residents have eagerly awaited have already flung open their doors to the public, but there’s still a lot of anticipation about when the food options will arrive. One of the most talked-about restaurants, Chicken Salad Chick, officially opened its doors on October 15th, delighting locals with its hearty chicken salad offerings.
But what about other food options, particularly Panda Express and Surcheros Fresh Mex? A quick heads-up for those who were marking their calendars for November 19th: the opening of Surcheros has hit a snag and will now be delayed until sometime in 2025. This news comes courtesy of an email we received from Surcheros’ marketing team, who explained that the delay is due to ongoing construction hiccups. While the wait might feel long, we can take solace in knowing that this location will be the very first Surcheros to open in South Carolina.
What Makes Surcheros Special?
So, what can we expect when Surcheros finally opens its doors? This trendy, Georgia-based Tex-Mex chain is known for its extensive menu full of customizable options. From burritos to nachos, tacos, salads, and beyond, there’s something for everyone. You can even build your own concoction that perfectly suits your flavor cravings!
Despite the delay, the company has ambitious plans to broaden its reach significantly. In early 2024, Surcheros announced a goal to launch 100 new restaurants in just five years. During that time, they plan to roll out 15 to 20 locations by the end of 2025. It’s clear that Beaufort will be a part of this exciting expansion when the time comes.
A Glimpse of the New Shopping Center
The sprawling 209,250 square foot shopping center, located at the corner of Robert Smalls Parkway and Paris Island Gateway, provides not just food but a wide variety of shopping experiences. Among the tenants that have already opened their doors are familiar favorites such as PetSmart, TJ Maxx, Home Goods, Five Below, Hobby Lobby, and Ross Dress for Less, to name a few. There’s also Ulta Beauty for all your beauty needs and Old Navy for some fashionable finds.
Alongside Surcheros, Beaufort Station will also host newcomers such as Mattress Warehouse, America’s Best, a Parker’s Kitchen, and a Parker’s Car Wash. It’s genuinely thrilling to see such diverse offerings come into the community, bringing more shopping and dining experiences to the area.
A Community on the Rise
Jeff Surrency, executive vice president of development for The Morgan Companies, the developers behind Beaufort Station, emphasized the vibrant nature of Beaufort. “This beautiful community is growing but has been underserved in retail,” he said. His sentiments echo the excitement felt by residents who have been eager for more shopping options. Trey Morgan, President of The Morgan Companies, remarked, “We continue to attract high-quality tenants for this project, and we couldn’t be more excited.”
In summary, while we may have to wait a little longer for Surcheros and Panda Express to join the bustling shopping center, the existing lineup of stores and restaurants is already proving to be a hit with the locals. The Beaufort Station Shopping Center is paving the way for a bright retail future, and we can’t wait to see all that is to come!
