Farewell to Dos Amigos, Hello to New Flavors in Beaufort!
Beaufort residents, hold onto your sombreros! While we may be saying goodbye to a local favorite, there’s something exciting brewing just around the corner. Dos Amigos Mexican Grill & Tequila Bar, a beloved part of Beaufort Town Center, is closing its doors for the final time on December 31, 2024. But don’t worry, the man behind the taco magic, Pedro Solorio, is not retiring but reinventing!
What’s Next for Pedro Solorio?
Instead of hanging up his apron, Solorio is gearing up to launch a brand-new, yet-to-be-named venture. Located at 2317 Boundary Street, you might recognize the spot as the old home of Jade Garden Chinese Cuisine. So, don’t pack away your appetite just yet! Set to arrive in spring 2025, this fresh concept promises to be a feast for the senses with an elevated, Miami-style cantina vibe. Solorio envisions vibrant interiors and creative cocktails that will set the stage for some upscale Mexican cuisine.
A Welcoming Environment for Everyone
What’s particularly exciting is Solorio’s commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere. He understands that dining out doesn’t always mean dressing up, saying, “Anybody can come in, even the guys that work in construction. You don’t have to be fully dressed up. I’m trying to make it very welcoming.”
We all love a place where we can enjoy a good meal without feeling out of place, right? While he’s still caught up in choosing from three potential names for the restaurant, he assured everyone it won’t include the overused terms like agave or tequila. Now that’s refreshing!
More Good News: Rancho Grande Expanding!
But wait, there’s even more food news from Solorio! He’s also set to bring a second location of his popular restaurant, Rancho Grande, to Beaufort. Though location specifics are under wraps, he’s eyeing it for a summer or fall 2025 opening. His goal? To delight our taste buds with a menu inspired by the rich flavors and vibrant landscapes of Mexico!
Rancho Grande has already won the hearts—and stomachs—of many locals with its traditional recipes and fresh, local ingredients. If you’re a fan of tacos, fajitas, nachos, or quesadillas, get ready to enjoy these mouthwatering favorites paired with handcrafted margaritas and specialty cocktails.
Keeping the Flavor Alive
Even though we’ll miss the bustling laughter and lively spirit of Dos Amigos, it’s comforting to know Solorio has big plans for the future in Beaufort. The local restaurant scene will continue to thrive with inventive ideas and delicious dishes that keep us coming back for more.
So, as we bid adieu to Dos Amigos, let’s keep our eyes peeled for new beginnings, tempting cocktails, and flavors that await us in 2025. Are you ready to embrace this culinary evolution? Stay tuned, Beaufort! Your taste buds are about to go on a delightful adventure!
