Hold Tight, Beaufort County: Your CERT Basic Training is Coming Up!

Beaufort County buddies, get this. Registration for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training program is now open! The program is brought to you by our very own Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, and it’s all about getting you ready to handle disaster scenarios like a pro.

This isn’t just about snazzy certificates and some hypothetical knowledge. No, no, no. CERT Basic Training is here to give you real, practical skills. So, the next time disaster strikes, instead of feeling clueless, you can spring into action. You’ll know how to take care of yourself, your family, and heck, even your neighbors if they need it.

And where are these classes held? Where else but at the heart of our community – the Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue. It’s at 40 Summit Drive on Hilton Head Island, just in case you skipped your morning coffee and missed that part.

Details of the Course

This ain’t no one-time gig. There’re four sessions to this course. You’ve to show up on Monday and Wednesday nights between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Then, there’s this Saturday exercise that starts at 9:00 a.m. Curious about the dates? Here goes:

  • October 7: 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
  • October 9: 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
  • October 14: 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
  • October 16: 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
  • October 19: 9 a.m. – end of exercise.

How to Register

The best part? CERT classes are free! Yes, you heard that right. FREE! All they need is your time and your commitment to learning these valuable skills. If this sounds like just the thing for you, don’t waste a minute. Get on that registration pronto!

And how do you register? Easy peasy! All you’ve to do is email cert@bcgov.net or call 843-255-4007. Tell them you’re ready to join the CERT Basic Training program. You can also head to their website and click ‘register’ to book your spot in the program.
