Belonging to the South Carolina Main Street organization has availed Beaufort the opportunity to network on a purpose-built social media group along with the 33 other Main Street members located across the state. The Downtown Operations Department of the City of Beaufort actively participates in Main Street classes aimed at enhancing their expertise in keeping the downtown district vibrant and thriving.

Besides providing networking opportunities, being a member of the South Carolina Main Street organization has availed access to technical training aimed at aiding historic preservation. For example, businesses can receive guidance on various aspects such as optimizing store displays to attract more customers.
