Originating in 1956, an assemblage of Beaufort’s business magnates inaugurated the first Water Festival, anticipating a turnout of a few hundred attendees. Surprisingly, around 4,000 locals and visitors from beyond the region showed up, marking the beginning of a tradition that has been flourishing ever since.
