The event is open to residents, allowing for public comments and contributions on city matters.

Winter Storm Enzo Changes Plans for Beaufort’s Strategic Planning Retreat

The City of Beaufort, a charming community with around 14,000 residents, has had to make some adjustments to its annual public strategic planning retreat due to the impending weather antics from winter storm Enzo. Originally set for February 7-9, 2023, the retreat has now been rescheduled for February 24, 25, and 26. So mark those calendars and get ready to dive into some important city business!

Getting Down to Business

The retreat will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the Black County Chamber of Commerce, located at 711 Bladen Street. During this three-day event, city leaders will tackle several key topics that directly impact the community’s future. This includes a thorough look at the current fiscal year budget and updates on ongoing initiatives that are designed to improve various city services.

What’s on the Agenda?

One of the most pressing discussions will center around the status of capital projects that are currently in the works, as well as identifying any emerging capital project needs for the future. Throughout the retreat, residents can expect presentations from the city’s strategic partners, who will share insights and progress related to collaborative efforts in Beaufort.

A little added bonus for attendees: the retreat’s agenda will also feature a separate session on the Capital Improvements Projects, which is set to happen on February 25. This quarterly work session is designed to keep everyone up to speed on essential improvements happening throughout the city.
