Celebrate Thanksgiving at St. Helena’s Church in Beaufort!

Beaufort is gearing up to celebrate a heartwarming tradition this year as the community is invited to join in for the 45th annual Thanksgiving service and dinner at St. Helena’s Church. It’s a delightful event that truly embodies the spirit of gratitude and togetherness.

Since way back in 1979, St. Helena’s Church, located at 505 Church Street, has proudly opened its doors to everyone looking to share in a sense of community and joy during this special holiday. This year, on Thursday, November 28, the festivities kick off with a lovely Thanksgiving service starting at 10:30 a.m.. Following the service, all are invited to indulge in a delicious Thanksgiving dinner in the Parish Hall at 507 Newcastle Street, which will commence at 11:30 a.m..

A Feast Fit for Everyone!

Over the years, this event has become a beloved tradition for many, regularly attracting hundreds of attendees. Last year alone, more than 600 meals were served, highlighting the event’s immense popularity. Attendees can expect a mouthwatering menu featuring turkey dinners accompanied by cornbread stuffing, green beans, sweet potato casseroles, cranberry sauce, and a delightful array of desserts. Just thinking about it makes your taste buds tingle!

The dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and everyone—whether you’re a resident or just visiting—are encouraged to join in the celebration. This is a wonderful opportunity to invite family, friends, neighbors, and yes, even strangers to come and share in this festive occasion. There’s plenty of room at the table!

Every Plate Matters

The best part? The meal is totally free! But if you feel inclined to contribute, donations are always appreciated. A fantastic community spirit is at the heart of this event, and it takes the hard work of over 150 volunteers who dedicate weeks of preparation to ensure that this gathering is not only festive but also warm and welcoming. From roasting turkeys to baking those scrumptious pies and cookies, every effort counts!

For those who may be homebound or unable to join the festivities in person, don’t fret! There’s a meal delivery option available.
