Residents of Beaufort can breathe a little easier today! That’s right, the Beaufort Memorial Hospital (BMH) has just expanded its Pulmonary Specialists practice to a new location at the Lowcountry Medical Group offices located at 300 Midtown Drive. This is great news for anyone dealing with respiratory issues, as increased access to specialized healthcare is officially here!
The expansion marks a significant stride in BMH’s ongoing commitment to providing top-notch healthcare services throughout the Lowcountry. According to BMH’s President and CEO, Russell Baxley, this new office means that more residents who are experiencing disorders related to their respiratory systems will now find expertise much closer to home. “The expansion of the Pulmonary Specialists practice represents an important step in BMH’s continued efforts to expand access to quality healthcare in the Lowcountry,” Baxley noted in a recent news release.
Leading the charge at the new office is the highly qualified Dr. John Krcmarik, who is board-certified in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Dr. Krcmarik is no stranger to the intricacies of lungs and respiratory systems—he graduated from Loyola’s Stritch School of Medicine and completed his training at the renowned Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He also brings fellowship expertise from his career in pulmonary critical care.
Joining him in this endeavor are fellow specialists: Dr. Andrew Stevens and Shawna Nievierowski, FNP-BC. Dr. Stevens graduated summa cum laude from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada and boasts extensive training in both internal medicine and pulmonary care through his residency and fellowship in California. On the other hand, Shawna comes with over a decade of experience in nursing and has developed a passion for pulmonary care after obtaining advanced certifications in intensive and critical care.
Not to worry if you have been seeing these professionals at their other location; the practice will continue to operate out of the Beaufort Memorial Okatie Medical Pavilion in Okatie. This means that no one will be left without care as they make the transition to the expanded services!
Whether you have a persistent cough, face difficulties breathing, or have any concerns about your respiratory health, the newly enhanced team is ready to lend a helping hand. These specialists also routinely treat patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, ensuring that they are equipped to handle both routine visits and urgent care situations when necessary.
So, are you or someone you know looking to schedule an appointment with one of these fantastic healthcare providers? It’s super easy! Just give them a call at 843-707-8040 to get started. Take that step toward better respiratory health—you deserve it!
With dedicated professionals and an expanded practice, Beaufort residents should feel reassured knowing that their respiratory health is in excellent hands right here in their community. Here’s to clearer skies and healthier lungs!
