Listen up, folks! If you were planning to get some business done at the City of Beaufort offices on the 2nd of September, you might want to rethink your schedule. In respect and commemoration of the upcoming Labor Day holiday, the offices will be as quiet as a library.
And it doesn’t stop there! Capital Waste Services has also declared a time-out for trash and recycling pick-up services on the same day. Beaufort residents who usually have their waste collected on Mondays, your bins will be emptied on Tuesday instead. Making sense so far? Good, because it means all other pick-up schedules roll to the next day too. So if your trash is usually picked up on Tuesday, it will be collected on Wednesday, and so on.
But why the closures, you ask? To put it simply – Labor Day. Now, you must’ve heard of Labor Day, right? It’s a day when we kick back, slow down and give props to every hardworking guy and gal out there.
On the first Monday of September each year, we honor all those who put in the daily grind and help keep our city ticking over smoothly. Labor Day is much more than just a day off – it’s a thank you to workers everywhere. In a nutshell? If you work, this day’s all about you.
If you’re up for some fun this Labor Day, there are some super entertaining events going down in the Savannah area, not too far off from our lovely Beaufort. So, why not make the most of the long weekend and round up your buddies or family to check out what’s happening?
With Labor Day on the horizon, it’s the perfect excuse to end your summer with a bang! Whether you’re planning a picnic, a BBQ, or simply want to chill in your backyard, there are a bunch of essentials you will need. Get your cooking equipment, snag some comfy outdoor chairs, bring out the sun cream, and don’t forget the all-important food and drink. Let’s wave summer goodbye with some good vibes!
In the meantime, remember that Labor Day is more than just a day to relax and have fun – it’s a chance to appreciate all those who put in the hours, day in and day out. So take a moment to give yourself a pat on the back, or to acknowledge someone whose work you appreciate. Like they say, ‘No work is insignificant’. Enjoy your day off, Beaufort!
