Regional Chamber of Commerce Names Beaufort Native As New President

Hey, Beaufort people! There’s some brand spanking new news in our town. Our very own native, Megan Morris, just got a big promotion. The Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce has found its new head honcho in their own backyard. Morris, who’s been serving as interim president since November 2023, just got a hat tip from the Chamber’s Board of Directors to take the big chair permanently. Her selection came with flying colors, unanimous even!

Morris’s Rise in the Chamber

Just in case you’re wondering how she landed this stellar gig, let’s take a trip down memory lane. The follow the leader game started for Morris back in August 2021 when she was brought on board as the Director of Member Services. Things moved pretty fast after that because she soon got the nod to step up as vice president. And now, here we are, our hometown girl is setting the vibes as the new president with her vision and ambition.

Her Plans for Beaufort

According to the big cheese, Nick Messenburg, the 2024 Chair and Site Manager for MCAS Beaufort, Morris’s got a solid game plan that they believe will kick things up a notch. She has the burning desire to build a kick-ass team of professionals both internally and externally. Adding more to her plate, she also plans to strengthen the ties between local, regional, state and national government officials.

“There are many opportunities ahead for Beaufort, and the Chamber will be at the leadership table to be a part of the solutions,” Messenburg said.

Morris Ready to Make Her Mark

Morris, thrilled with the opportunity, aims to bring about a positive change not only in the Chamber but also in the community she grew up in. She believes her skills are just what the doctor ordered for the local, regional state and national advocacy front. Leaving a positive legacy in Beaufort is what she has in sight during her tenure as president.

Interesting times ahead, right? So, let’s keep our eyes on the Chamber and our very own, Megan Morris, as she puts Beaufort on an improved trajectory. Stay tuned, people!
