Beaufort, SC – We have some thrilling news to share about two exceptional students from Beaufort County! Austin McGuire from Beaufort High School and Ava Elizabeth Rios from Bluffton High School have both been named semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. How amazing is that?

These bright stars entered the competition by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Their impressive scores landed them among the highest achievers, putting them in the top one percent of all high school seniors across the United States!
