Yearlong Beaufort County drug probe ends in two arrests

A long-standing drug trafficking investigation in Beaufort County concluded with the arrest of Robert Timblin, 33, and Ellen Alberg, 24. The inquiry targeted the sale and distribution of harmful narcotics, namely, fentanyl and methamphetamine within the Southern region of the county.

Large cache of drugs raided from Bluffton residence

On June 25, authorities from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office executed a warrant for a residential search in Bluffton. The operation uncovered large quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine, the targeted drugs of the investigation. Additionally, significant quantities of marijuana and a mix of firearms were also discovered within the premises.

Charges laid against the accused

Both Timblin and Alberg face numerous charges following their arrest. Timblin has been indicted for trafficking methamphetamine and fentanyl, distributing methamphetamine, possession of firearms or ammunition as a previously convicted violent criminal, and possession of weapon during commission of a violent crime. He remains in custody.

Alberg’s charges include distribution of methamphetamine, possession with the intent of distributing methamphetamine, and distribution of methamphetamine in the vicinity of a school. She joins Timblin in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center.

Probable additional charges

Despite the significant progress in the investigation and subsequent arrests, it remains ongoing with the potential for more charges to be leveled against the accused pair. The active investigation is focused on establishing a stronger connection between the seized drugs, firearms, and the accused parties, and rooting out any potential syndicate affiliation.
