Beaufort County Gears Up for Disaster Recovery Center Reopening
Hey there, Beaufort! We’ve got some important news for you that could make a real difference in your recovery journey after Hurricane Helene. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is reopening their Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) right here in Beaufort County! This is a golden opportunity for residents who need a bit of help getting back on their feet.
Where and When to Go
The DRC will be set up at the Burton Wells Recreation Center, located at 1 Middleton Recreation Drive. From Sunday, Nov. 10 through Wednesday, Nov. 13, the center will be open to assist you from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. And guess what? They’ll be open on Veteran’s Day too, though all other rooms at the rec center will be closed for the holiday. So mark your calendars and take advantage of this chance to get some face-to-face help!
No Appointments Needed!
One of the best parts? You don’t need to make an appointment. Just walk right in and talk to representatives from FEMA, the state of South Carolina, and the U.S. Small Business Administration. They’ll be there to guide you through the assistance options available to you, answer your questions, and get you the help you may need.
How to Apply for Aid
If you’re thinking about applying for aid but can’t make it to the center, there are still options! You can hop online to DisasterAssistance.gov. For those who prefer to have the info right in their back pocket, downloading the FEMA App to your mobile device is a breeze! Not a fan of tech? No worries! Just give them a call toll-free at 800-621-3362. They’re ready to assist you however you feel comfortable!
