Exciting Events Coming Up in Lowcountry Communities

As the fall season settles in across Lowcountry, communities in Beaufort, Jasper, and Hampton counties are buzzing with vibrant activities. If you’re looking for some family-friendly fun and a chance to engage with your neighbors, you’re in for a treat! Here’s a sneak peek at some upcoming local events that you won’t want to miss.

Trick or Treat on Lee Avenue

First up, if you’re in Hampton, mark your calendars for the eagerly awaited Trick or Treat on Lee Avenue event happening on October 31. From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., the streets will be filled with goblins, superheroes, and all sorts of spooktacular characters as local merchants, Chamber of Commerce members, and community organizations join in the fun. Organizers are expecting around 500 children to participate!

Children will receive special trick or treat bags courtesy of the Chamber of Commerce to collect their candy and goodies. Bluffton’s Inaugural Concert Series

Next, let’s head over to Bluffton, where the town is excited to present its inaugural Bluffton Concert Series on November 1. The series promises to be a wonderful celebration of music, food, and community spirit. The concert is set to feature the band CornBreD from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the beautiful Buckwalter Place Amphitheater Park.

What’s more? The concert is completely free, and there will be several food trucks on hand to tantalize your taste buds. Don’t miss this chance to unwind with great music and delicious eats while soaking up the community vibe!

Safety Spooktacular in Bluffton

On October 25, the Town of Bluffton and the local police department will host their 4th Annual Safety Spooktacular at Oscar Frazier Park from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.. This free event is an important opportunity for families to learn about public safety while enjoying Halloween-themed activities.

Local agencies and non-profit organizations will share safety information while passing out Halloween candy. And for the food lovers, Bluffton police officers will be grilling up hot dogs for everyone! Attendees are encouraged to don their favorite costumes, and there will be a costume contest at 6:30 p.m., along with a special dog costume contest. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes, making this an event filled with fun!

Glass Mosaic Workshop at Morris Center

If you’re looking to tap into your creative side, the Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage is hosting its third Lowcountry Glass Mosaic Workshop on November 16, starting at 10 a.m.. Located at 10782 S. Jacob Smart Boulevard in Ridgeland, this workshop will teach you how to create a stunning mosaic suncatcher under the expert guidance of glass artist Pat Stone.

Participants will learn the ins and outs of cutting glass, following patterns, and grouting. These workshops tend to fill up quickly, so if you’re interested, be sure to register early to secure your spot!

Yemassee Shrimp Festival

Finally, the excitement continues in Yemassee as the town gears up for the highly anticipated 30th Annual Yemassee Shrimp Festival from October 10-12. The festival promises family-friendly activities and a vibrant atmosphere filled with community celebrations.
