Schedule out for Beaufort Film Society’s BFS Shorts @ High Noon

The cool folks at the Beaufort Film Society (BFS) just dropped the schedule for their upcoming 2024 Shorts @ High Noon screening series. Just picture this: Every Wednesday at noon from September 11 through to November 13, BFS will be throwing up short film picks from the 2024 Beaufort International Film Festival (BIFF) for screening. The hotspot for these screenings? It’s the auditorium of the Technical College of the Lowcountry. Located at 921 Ribaut Road, Building 12, not too far away in Beaufort.

The drill is simple. Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m., so make sure you’re not running late. The screenings will last about an hour, not too long to squeeze into a lunch break. And here’s the cherry on top – admission is free. That’s right, you can soak in these cinematic gems without digging into your pockets.

Your Viewing Calendar

For a quick peek at the films lined up for screening, here’s the scoop:

September 11: Dandelion (4 minutes, Animation), Nisei (22 minutes, Short), Dear Owner (9 minutes, Short), Slobopoly (9 minutes, Student)

September has more in store with films like Knighttime Story, Iris, and A Shattering on 18th and The Star & The Scribe, August, Common As Red Hair, and Because I Love You on 25th.

With October breezing in, be sure not to miss Return, Hog Tied, The Magic Ticket and Rodenwald: Toward a More Perfect Union on the 2nd, and Blood Is Thicker, Fundamental Shapes, and Hit Man: Secrets of Lies on the 9th.

Gems like Not The Same Clarence, Our Males & Females, and David Again are slated for October 16th, and Ivey’s Dream, Stalking The Bogeyman, and Estela, Is It You for the 23rd. Closing October, mark the 30th for Purgy’s, Us, Together, Alone, and Infraction.

As fall deepens in November, watch out for In Search Of, That’s Not My Mother, and Spray Away on the 6th, and Rough Draft, Night Voices, and Hedgehog on the 13th.

The grand finale is on November 20th when BFS members will vote on 1 of 3 BIFF 2025 submissions to help select an official screen gem for the upcoming festival. To partake in this, your BFS membership needs to be current.

If you see an asterisk (*) next to a film, that means it’s a 2024 BIFF winner – marking it as a must-watch.
