Four New School Chiefs Announced for the Upcoming School Year
In amazing news, Beaufort County School District has introduced four new principals for the academic year that’s due to commence on August 7. These educational rockstars have been chosen from within the school district and their appointments were declared by the big guy, Superintendent Frank Rodriguez.
Rodriguez said, “Every exceptional district has strong school leaders. I’m buzzed about these amazing educators taking up their new roles. They’re rock-solid experienced and know how important it is to build a motivated school culture as well as ensure our students ace their studies.”
The New Leaders in Charge
Jamie Allen
Jamie Allen, a veteran administrator, bags the principal seat at Broad River Elementary School, replacing Constance Goodwine-Lewis who’s taking over St. Helena Elementary School. With her whole educational career and a whopping 18 years of service in Beaufort County School District, Allen bringing some serious experience to the table.
She isn’t new to Broad River Elementary as it’s the same school where she began her education journey in 2006 teaching third grade. She’s also proved her mettle as a literacy interventionist, TAP mentor and master teacher, and as an assistant principal until 2021. Not to forget, Allen’s a decorated ex-Army member, having earned two achievement medals between 1998 and 2005.
Brantley Wilson
Taking Jamie Allen’s previous role is Brantley Wilson who now heads Whale Branch Middle School. A man with some diverse educational experience, Wilson’s journey spans from working as a student services assistant to a compliance coordinator and mentor for at-risk youth. He’s played quite a few roles in a few other schools too which makes him more than ready for his new role.
Sonji Leach
Next up, we have Sonji Leach, scoring the principal’s role at Whale Branch Early College High School, replacing Davina Coleman. Leach’s list of achievements includes principal gigs at schools in Georgia among other administrative posts, and a stint as a Director of School Improvement. With such extensive experience, she’s all set for her new charge.
Keith Stewart
Last but not least, Keith Stewart, who was once an assistant principal, is now sitting in the principal’s chair at Bluffton Middle School. Stewart’s educational journey has been all about physical education, serving several schools within Beaufort County. With so much wisdom to share, we’re sure he’s going to be an ace principal.
The district said that various interview committees including teacher leaders, School Improvement Council members and other key persons rated the candidates which were then presented to Superintendent Rodriguez for the final verdict. Sounds like a well-rounded selection process, right?
