A delightful breakfast selection at Bluffton’s Eggs Up Grill.
Bluffton’s Eggs Up Grill, located in New Riverside Village, marks its first anniversary this May. Owners Lori and George Hutson have transformed the restaurant into a beloved community hub, serving delicious breakfast and brunch while engaging with local initiatives. Their commitment to empowering women in business and plans for expansion reflect their dedication to both culinary excellence and community spirit.
In the heart of Bluffton, a delightful breakfast spot has quickly become a beloved gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Eggs Up Grill, nestled in New Riverside Village at the bustling intersection of May River Road and Highway 170, is gearing up to celebrate its very first birthday this May. Opened by the dynamic duo, Lori Hutson and her husband George, this restaurant has not only brought a splash of flavor to the area but has fostered a warm sense of community.
With a rich background in both the food industry and retail management, Lori Hutson’s journey back to culinary delights was inspired by cherished memories of her grandmother’s bakery. After working in various food service roles since she was just 16 years old, the Hutsons decided to open their first franchise in Bluffton, becoming a part of the well-known Eggs Up Grill family, a chain that boasts numerous locations across the southeastern United States.
Open daily from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Eggs Up Grill specializes in breakfast and brunch items that have quickly won over the hearts and taste buds of many. The restaurant features an inviting atmosphere: light, bright, and cheery, creating a perfect backdrop for families and friends to catch up over delicious meals. With indoor seating for 97 and outdoor seating for 28, there is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the vibrant environment.
The menu showcases a mouthwatering array of food, including corned beef hash, made-to-order omelets, delectable blueberry muffins, and unique croissant-style donuts, alongside several hearty burger and salad options. As a bonus, patrons can enjoy their meals in various ways, from dining in and takeout to delivery and catering services. The full menu is available throughout the restaurant’s operating hours, making it easy for everyone to enjoy their favorites.
From the very beginning, the Hutsons have committed to being more than just a restaurant; they strive to be active participants in the Bluffton community. They’ve donated turkeys to the Bluffton Township Fire Department and have partnered with Bluffton Self Help, showing their passion for supporting local initiatives. In celebration of Women’s History Month, Lori speaks of the significance of women-owned businesses and the importance of encouraging other women to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.
Having been raised in a household full of brothers, Lori has always viewed her journey as a businesswoman as one of empowerment rather than challenge. She leads a strong female management team, reflecting her belief in the capabilities of women and their potential in the business world.
Excitingly, the Hutsons are already planning to expand their success by opening a second location in Beaufort County, with future aspirations in Jasper County as well. Community support has played a key role in their journey, including encouragement from Bluffton Mayor Larry Toomer, which has only fueled their passion for the business.
At Eggs Up Grill, the feeling of family extends beyond the Kitchen. The restaurant prides itself on creating a welcoming environment for both guests and staff. They encourage local partnerships, offer discounts to first responders, and engage with local sports programs and fundraisers, reinforcing their commitment to the community.
As the restaurant continues to grow, it is actively seeking new team members. With a family-oriented work environment and flexible scheduling options, there’s a place for everyone to join in the fun at Eggs Up Grill.
Originally founded over 25 years ago in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, Eggs Up Grill now boasts 76 locations with more than 100 additional sites in the pipeline. Lori and George Hutson’s journey is just beginning, and as they celebrate this year of service, the future looks promising, not just for them but for the entire Bluffton community.
