Augusta, SC – The Augusta women’s basketball team turned in an impressive performance on March 1, 2025, as they went head-to-head against USC Beaufort, wrapping up the day with a convincing 61-44 victory. Fans at USC Beaufort’s gym had the chance to witness this exciting match, where the Jaguars showcased their skills and determination.
This game kicked off with a bit of a struggle for the Jaguars, who initially found themselves trailing. The first quarter was slow going, but they quickly found their rhythm, rallying back to take charge in the second quarter. Augusta dominated in the paint, scoring a whopping 38 points while also winning the rebounding battle with a resounding 45-35 against USC Beaufort.
As the second quarter rolled around, Augusta reclaimed the lead and outscored USC Beaufort 17-8. By halftime, the scoreboard read 31-26 in favor of the Jaguars. Leading the charge for the Jaguars was Quinasia Abercrombie, who dazzled fans with her skills, contributing 15 points and snagging five rebounds. Je’Bria Fullwood also had a fantastic outing, recording a double-double with 11 points and an impressive 12 rebounds, proving to be a force both offensively and defensively. Amari Jackson added valuable support with 10 points and six rebounds, while Sierra Burns came in off the bench and made an impact by scoring five points.
The statistics showed that Augusta shot 37.3% from the field and maintained a free throw percentage of 77.8%, while they could convert 25.0% of their three-point attempts. In contrast, USC Beaufort struggled, posting only 32.0% shooting from the field and a disheartening 12.5% for three-pointers. Their free throw percentage stood at 55.6%, which certainly left room for improvement.
