Staff at the Beaufort County Veterans Affairs Office preparing for training to better serve veterans.
The Beaufort County Veterans Affairs Office will close from March 31 to April 4 for essential staff training. During this period, an administrator will be reachable for urgent matters. Regular operations resume on April 7. Additionally, Bluffton’s office will also be closed for the training week. This initiative aims to enhance services for veterans and their families.
Beaufort County residents, mark your calendars! The Beaufort County Veterans Affairs Office is hitting the pause button from March 31 to April 4 for a week of staff training. This is an important step to ensure that the dedicated team at the office is fully equipped to serve our valued veterans and their families better than ever!
The office will be closed to the public during this training week, but don’t worry! The team has made arrangements for an administrator to be available via phone and email. So if you have any pressing needs or want to set up an appointment in the Beaufort office, you can still reach out. The office will be back to its usual business hours on Monday, April 7.
If you’d like to contact the Veterans Affairs Administrator during this time, you can give Crystal Snowden a call at 843-812-8023 or drop her an email at csnowden@bcgov.net.
Heads up to those in Bluffton! The Benton Field Road office will also remain closed during the training week. Make sure to plan ahead if you need any assistance, and remember that you can still contact the administrator for support.
Whether it’s regional field trips, card games, dominoes, scrapbooking, line dancing, bingo, yoga, Zumba, birthday parties, or picnics, there’s something for every senior to get involved in! These initiatives are wonderful opportunities for seniors to mingle and make lasting memories.
Beaufort County is also teaming up with local nonprofits through a Community Services Grant Program. This program aims to enhance the quality of life for seniors, with awardees including organizations like Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Bluffton Self Help, Family Promise, Good Neighbor Free Medical Clinic, Habitat for Humanity, Lowcountry Food Bank, Memory Matters, and Volunteers in Medicine. It’s heartening to see so many community leaders come together to support our senior neighbors!
For those seeking assistance during or after the training period, Veterans Affairs Counselors are available by appointment. Just call 843-255-6880 to schedule your visit.
Be sure to stay informed and support our veterans, as well as engage with the incredible senior programs that the county has to offer! We’re all part of this vibrant community, and together, we can make Beaufort County a better place for everyone.
