Prepare Yourself for a Stellar Lineup at the 2024 BFS Shorts @_ High Noon
Picture it: It’s a beautiful, sunny Wednesday in Beaufort. You’ve just clocked out for lunch and are looking for something different, something exciting, to fill your mid-day break. How about some art and culture at midday, in the form of short films, for absolutely no charge? Sounds like a dream, right?
Well, folks, that’s exactly what the Beaufort Film Society (BFS) has got in store for us all. They’ve let us in on their brilliant schedule for the “2024 BFS Shorts @ High Noon“. This arty, spectacular series will screen renowned short movies from the 2024 Beaufort International Film Festival (BIFF).
Every Wednesday, as the city clock strikes twelve, from September 11 through November 13, head down to the Technical College of the Lowcountry Auditorium at 921 Ribaut Road, Building 12. Be sure to be there by 11:30 a.m. to check-in. Licence to enjoy a good short films for about an hour is on the house, thanks to BFS’ generosity.
A Sneak Peek into the BFS Movie Schedule
Here’s a sneak peek into the movie schedule, just to add a little sparkle to your anticipation:
Starting off, September 11 sets the ball rolling with animation movie, Dandelion running for 4 minutes, followed by Nisei a short film running for 22 minutes, Dear Owner for 9 minutes, and ending with Student film Slobopoly for 9 minutes.
The coming Wednesdays continue the reel fiesta with a range of genres starting from animation to short films and documentaries. The casts include Knighttime Story, Iris, A Shattering, Rodenwald: Toward a More Perfect Union, Blood Is Thicker and more. They range from 3 to 24-minutes filling the air with drama, excitement and storytelling at its best.
The BFS Finale
And then… we wrap up! On November 20, the BFS members will decide 1 of the 3 BIFF 2025 submissions. The elected film will be an official selection for the upcoming festival. Just remember, to vote, you gotta show proof of membership! Special kudos to anyone who spotted the 2024 BIFF winners (denoted with an asterix) in the lineup.
